Grooming needs for Cavaliers are simple. A routine of bathing, coming, and brushing will help keep shedding to a minimum. The ears should be cleaned weekly to stay healthy. This will also indirectly control tear staining in some Cavaliers the eyes will weep or tear, especially during teething and should be cleaned once or twice a day. The coat never needs to be trimmed and in fact doing so is against the breed standards. Nail trimming and clipping of the hair between the pads of the feet will keep feet clean and comfortable.
